My tomatoes say it is the end of summer

Yesterday I went to the garden to do a little maintenance and ended up spending over an hour uprooting my diseased San Marzano tomato plants.  It appears they suffered from the heartbreak of fusarium wilt.  They were pretty much done producing, so I harvested what was left.  The other tomato plants are also affected by wilt but they still seem to want to make more tomatoes.  I doubt there they have much left in them.  Meanwhile, it’s so hot that the seeds I was trying to sprout have failed.

I took the green tomatoes I harvested and had just enough to make a batch of Curried Green Tomato Pickles.

our tomatoes looked like they were done last year about this time. once it cooled a little, toward September, they started up again and didn’t stop until November.
